The PSIber Group
The PSIber Group is a technology company owned by the LabourNet Group, South Africa’s leading supplier of HR legal and professional services. The company focuses on the design, development and servicing of the highly successful, leading edge payroll, human resources and tax technology software suite, known as PSIberWORKS. PSIber was launched in the early days of the internet boom and was the first company in South Africa to provide a truly “cloud based”, fully integrated, end-to-end payroll and human resource management solution on a “pay as you go” basis.
Today, the company still enjoys the enviable reputation of being the first company in South Africa to provide this specific type of technology and has consistently maintained its position as the market leader in the field of “cloud based” payroll, HR and tax applications.
The early versions of the PSIberWORKS suite were primarily aimed at small to medium sized businesses which required an easy to use and inexpensive “do-it-yourself” service over the internet. Over the years larger organisations have exponentially embraced the internet, and today, many large companies are managing the payroll and HR needs of their entire workforce directly over the internet through the PSIberWORKS system – from anywhere and at any time.
The application services all types and sizes of organisations from the simple home user (for domestic workers payslips), to SMME’s and sophisticated corporates who process in excess of 10 000 employees online at any one time.
As the power and speed of the internet has become increasingly accessible to individuals and businesses alike, at ever reducing costs, it is now almost a standard that companies, irrespective of size or industry type, are legally required to electronically manage most tax, payroll and human resource related functions and transact with government departments and local authorities over the internet. This is evident by the growing complexity of tax and labour laws and the potential costs to the employer for non-compliance, together with the fact that most statutory bodies, such as SARS, UIF, etc., and various other statutory bodies, are rapidly moving towards the management of statistical returns and the payment of associated fees via the Internet.
PSIber has for many years been actively involved with the Payroll Authors Group of South Africa (PAGSA), an entity primarily established to interact with SARS and other government departments on behalf of all payroll developers/vendors in South Africa, and is currently represented on the MANCO board. Over the years the PAGSA has been instrumental in assisting SARS with the design and implementation of many initiatives such as the introduction of SITE many years ago, the introduction of electronic IRP5’s, the e@syfile and e-filing applications, to mention a few.
PSIber has designed and developed it’s suite of products and modules which take full advantage of modern methods of transacting and processing over the internet and has produced a product suite that not only complies with the latest legislative requirements, but which has set the benchmark for future developments in the world of “cloud based” payroll and HR management products and services. The PSIberWORKS product suite offers a radical new approach to traditional payroll processing and calculation methods previously adopted by payroll / HR software vendors. It also lends itself to simple yet effective methods of integration to a variety of third party applications, such as general ledger systems, time management systems, banking institutions, etc., if and when needed. Through all this use of sophisticated and modern technologies the product has still managed to maintain a high degree of ease-of-use through the incorporation of the very latest thinking in terms of visual presentation, screen aesthetics, and ‘drop, drag, point and click’ concepts.
PSIber distributes its technology too and supports its client base through a variety of respected partners in the payroll and HR services industry,
In short, PSIber’s business starts and ends with people - from recruitment to retirement!
